Update

Ok, no breaking news to share, but I thought it might be nice to post an update of what's going on in our lives...

The bulldozer's a runnin'! Our back yard is being filled in with dirt, dirt and more dirt as we speak. If you've ever seen our backyard, the farthest part is slanted and the ground is uneven. So Adam spoke to our super nice superintendant Ronny and arranged to have the extra dirt on the new property next door moved to our back yard. Ronny is always willing to help. And he's usually around getting stuff done on our street in preparation to sell more homes. Ronny has been back & forth in the bulldozer for the last couple hours, and Adam is getting more and more excited as time goes on. He just said, "this is the best thing that's happened to me." But as an afterthought he agreed that this statement was "exaggerative." And the cats are beside themselves with the action.

Also, I'm sick today. I woke up last night with a terrible sore throat. And to top it off, I was having strange and vivid dreams that kept waking me up, each time reminding me that I felt like crap. I made it in to work this morning but left at lunchtime to come home and rest. I took a long nap with my fur babies once I got home. I feel like I've been run over by Ronny's bulldozer. Sore throat, body aches, weakness, etc. Adam ran to the store to get some medicine, and I'm loading up on vitamin C and just took my first dose of Airborne.

In other news, Adam is one of a few leaders in a new ministry at our church. It's called "Merge," and it's for singles post-high school through pre-family. I guess I'm considered a co-leader. All the leaders and members collectively meet each month on Tuesday and have a night of fellowship, worship and short teaching. Then from August-November, we will host a small group at our home on Thursday nights. Adam is pumped that this ministry is taking off and that there is a strong direction of the group. We tried to get something started like this last year, as did other people from time to time, but it didn't take off. But now we have a building to house this kind of group, with chic furniture, games (including wii), modern technology, etc. And we also have Jarad & Kelly, a new couple to our church. Jarad is about our age and is an ordained minister. In fact, he has already been a senior pastor at a church before. So the timing is perfect and we are excited that it's taking off!

Signing off for tonight...
