The Ring

Today marks a special day for us, and I'd love to share it with you :)

This morning, Alaina was begging to go "Bye Bye Tar" (bye bye in the car), and frankly so was I. I got showered & dressed while she played in my room. I sat her on my dresser while I sifted through my jewelry box to find some matching jewelry. Her little hands were all over my jewelry box too. Then I spotted my baby rings which were tucked into place in the back of my jewelry box. I decided to place one of the rings on her finger just to see if it would fit. And behold...it did!

She instantly grinned from ear to ear, as if she found a special treasure. This was her little ring that fit perfectly on her middle finger.

I have a collection of rings that I wore as a little girl. My grandmother ("Babelle") took me about every year to a certain jewelry store to have a gold ring specially made just for me. It was a cherished girly tradition.

And now - a couple decades later - the story of the ring continues. It's been waiting for quite some time to be worn again.

Alaina is wearing her new ring in pride. She has already received compliments on her beautiful ring.

Thank you, Babelle, for starting such a wonderful tradition :)
