Baptism Bash

This afternoon after our church service, Adam was baptized! He was actually baptized at the young age of 7, but this time around it has a different relevance. He has a much better understanding of the act of baptism and why it is important. Although he has been a Christian for many years, his fire for God has been reignited, if you will. He is re-commiting his life to Christ, and this is how he is expressing the inner change. I am so proud of him for being a respectable leader for our family, and the timing is especially significant since we have a daughter on the way. A fresh start, if you will.

Since our church meets in a high school, we do not have a baptismal pool. But we made due with 2 inflatable pools setup on the lawn. Hey, whatever works! And out of the 100 people being baptized, Adam was #1 in line. It was great that he was the 1st to go, but it barely gave me time to prepare! Luckily I HAD made it back from the bathroom. I was searching through my endless pit of a purse to find my digital camera. He was stepping into the water and I still had to take my camera out of the case, turn it on, and work my way to the front to grab a pic. Despite my camera frenzy, I did manage to get a couple shots. Just consider the circumstances if they did not turn out so well...

We were honored to have both my parents & Adam's parents join us for this special occasion. They experienced worship - BridgePointe style! And what better way to celebrate this occasion than a lunch outing to Cracker Barrel afterward! YUM!
