I am so bummed...after reading the Baby Center web site it says that I won't be out of the 1st trimester until next week! Ahh! How much longer can this go on? I guess another week would be the answer to my question. I feel like I'm never getting out of this first phase. Ok, moving on to this week's progress...
Baby Emmett:
Fingerprints have formed on the baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head. (Thank God!) If it's a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. She is almost 3 inches long, the size of a medium shrimp, and weighs nearly an ounce.
Mommy Emmett:
This is the last week of my first trimester, and the risk of miscarriage is now much lowre than earlier in pregnancy. Next week marks the beginning of the 2nd trimester, a time of relative comfort for many women who see early pregnancy symptoms such as morning sickness and fatigue subside. I should be getting about 300 more extra calories a day when pregnant (that's it??).
Back to work...
