Cat Tales

Ok, I already know some of you will completely tune out or skip over this blog post. I just can't resist it any longer...I have to talk about my fur babies! I could talk about them all day...they are my joy!

It amazes me how much they are creatures of routine. Maybe they take after someone??? This fact disgusts some people, but our cats sleep right in the bed with us. And YES, Adam is totally ok with it. He won't admit it, but he adores them too. Usually, Daisy's go-to spot is on our pillows, sometimes wrapped around our head. Or she curls up with Adam, sometimes under the covers except for her little head that pokes out (just like a person). She's a "daddy's girl!" Baloo, on the other hand, sticks with me and me only. He won't even dare to cross onto Adam's side for fear of torture. Baloo is so sensitive that he gets traumatized when Adam plays rough with him, or even holds him for that matter. Baloo always jumps on my side of the bed, slowly making his way up to the side of my body. He sleeps in between my arm and my side.

Luckily, they do not come to bed when we do. They usually wait a couple/few hours until we're sound asleep before taking their positions on the bed. Some mornings it's funny what we wake up to. And each morning, Baloo is my 3rd alarm clock. Once the alarm rings (or the sun comes up), he's meowing, head butting me and stepping all over my chest in an effort to wake me up and FEED him! His favorite part of the day, chow time. Then it's a mad dash down the steps and around the corner to the kitchen.

After their wet food is devoured (within 2 minutes), they run back upstairs to meet me in the bathroom, jump onto the counter, and wait until I turn the sink water on for them to luxuriously drink. It's so funny how they LOVE to drink from a small stream of water running out of the sink. They LIVE for this activity. In fact, they demand this special treatment several times a day, and we give in because it's just so darn cute...and quirky.

Adam jokes that if he believed in reincarnation, he would love to be reincarnated as one of my cats. I do agree that they are totally spoiled.

*P.S. The photo on top is of 44 lb. "Prince Chunk" who was first believed to be "Princess Chunk." He made the news as being, well HUGE, and wandering the streets of NJ. He has now been adopted and is on a low-carb, high protein diet!

That's not a cat. That's a pig!
