Fay

Tropical storm Fay has me puzzled. For one, "Fay" sounds like a grandma name...or a lunch lady name. It doesn't sound threatening at all. Not in the slightest. Adam joked that when he thinks of the name "Fay" he pictures an old lady baking him cookies.

Why are hurricane/tropical storm names never appropriate? If it was up to me, I'd name it "Fiona" or "Fanny." One sounds fierce/aggressive, the other funny. I'd surely giggle to myself if the weatherman was talking about how people were taking cover from Fanny, fearing her wrath. References to the wind gusts from Fanny would be hysterical!

But one thing's for sure...Fay/Fiona/Fanny has brought rain by the boatloads. I have never seen so much rain up our way. I LOVE the rain and I'm one of the few who has been looking forward to days of relentless rain. Depressing, I know. I find rain, and water in general, to be calming. In fact, my favorite place in my house is my garden tub. I take a bath every single night to wind down. It's a huge stress reliever. And in our new home, I have a serene view of the trees and sky. I've enjoyed my view of the falling rain, the stormy sky and the whisping trees the last couple days. Ahhh...
