Someone once told me I remind them of Pam in "The Office" TV series. Don't know about that, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the show. Adam & I can't wait until the new season starts. So much has been happening at my office. Ok, I guess it's not really my office, but when I'm all alone (such as now), it feels like my office and mine alone. I've been thoroughly entertained by the office drama that has taken place over the past few months. There's always drama, it's just a matter of who is caught in the middle of it from month to month, day to day. I try to stay out of it and remain an innocent bystander! In fact, I could write a book, possibly a lenghty novel (or two) about all the entertainment around here. My life is full of entertainment, and I love it! Never boring.
We're experiencing a strong case of the he-said, she-said's with a little of the body language/attitude problem mixed with the silent treatment, and on rare occasion, full blown yelling matches in which doors are slammed and feathers are ruffled. Again, just to clarify, I'M not in the middle of it. I just get to sit back and watch the drama unfold.
To be fair, it's really not always like this. When it's just David & I, everything is peachy. There's no clashing of personalites or hurt feelings, etc. He's the chief & I'm the indian. But when there's too many chiefs and not enough indians, problems arise and boundaries are crossed. There's a power struggle and it can turn ugly...and has!
On a happy note, I'm working on my brand new large-screen computer monitor. We are going through a technology conversion, which to me means new stuff! A new computer, updated programs and a step away from the dark age. We had a pizza party yesterday (me, David & our IT guy) and spent much of the day looking clueless. There was a crew changing out all our stuff and so most of the day we were displaced without a work space. Ok by me!
I'm also pretty happy about the Snickers bars I stashed at my desk. I have a whole drawer dedicated to snacks, soups, condoments and most importantly, CHOCOLATE! Maybe that's why I have 7 cavities, another story entirely. Oh, and I'm looking at my beautiful bouquet of pink, purple, white and green flowers! Garon, my bosses dad (and Allstate Financial National Sales Director), gave these to me on Wednesday. He appreciates me and all I do for the company :) That'll start your day off right.
Have a wonderful weekend, blog fans! Mine will be so busy that it's making my head spin already.
