Ahhh...such a restful day. I needed this. We've been caught in a schedule tornado lately, running from one place to the next. It's getting to be too much. Adam & I are re-thinking our commitments and will probably be cutting some things out just to keep our sanity. Stress is no fun.
This afternoon my parents came to visit and we all went to lunch. We ate at Williamson Bros. BBQ. Delicious! This place is a mile or less from our house and for some reason we never consider it for a restaurant choice. Not the case anymore. We will surely go back soon for another round. After chowing down, we returned to the ponderosa to relax. Well, at least I did. My dad (Mr. Fix It) found his way to a couple projects involving blinds. We watched a little TV and got caught up on the latest family news. The rest of the evening will be more rest and relaxation for Adam & I. We will probably watch another movie tonight. A cozy night at home :)
Briefly flashing back to the rest of the weekend...Saturday I got my hair done (cut & highlighted). I do this every 3 months and I love the rejuvination. I get to relax and be pampered for a good 2-3 hours. I was even treated to a complimentary hand/arm massage! And I love my hairdresser, Erin. She & I have much in common and have become good friends. Saturday night we went to a surprise birthday party for my boss. There was lots of good food and we had fun, but stayed out a bit too late.
Friday night we had a night out/in with Adrienne, a disabled girl at our church. She graduated from high school in May, and we were just now able to coordinate schedules and take her out for her graduation present. Adrienne is so sweet and she is a social butterfly. She loves to hang out with people and escape from her house! Per her request, we treated her to IHOP and she ordered everything chocolate. Chocolate chip pancakes with chocolate milk. Then we went across the street to get iced coffee's at Caribou Coffee, another request of Adrienne's. I think she had a chocolatey coffee of some sort. Then we retreated to our house to watch a movie. The only bad part was that she is terrified of our cats and there was a brief episode. We locked the cats upstairs, but Adrienne was questioning their whereabouts about every 10 minutes.
And before I know it, it will be back to the daily grind. This week will be a tough one...
