R&R / Wal-mart

My first Sunday morning post. For some reason I'm getting up earlier than usual on my "off" days, and on my own, I might add. Maybe I'm getting older after all. Or maybe I'm going to bed too darn early. All valid reasons.

This weekend has been total R&R so far. Well, there have been household chores & a Saturday trip to Wal-mart (ahhh!) as well. Saturday's at Wal-mart are an extreme test of patience, if you're ever looking for such a challenge. But we made it out alive. We were shopping for a good hour, hour & a half yesterday buying groceries and toiletries. This meant we scoped the perimeter of the store since these two things are on opposite ends of the store. Again, we escaped unharmed.

I really didn't plan on blogging about Wal-mart, but once I'm on the subject, words start to fly. I feel very strongly about Wal-mart. Parking is usually a nightmare, it's crowded, there are WEIRD people lurking the aisles (especially at night!), and I usually see something I've never seen before each time. BUT the prices are the best! And Adam's work gives him Wal-mart gift cards as incentives, so we must put them to good use.

If you know my brother Dan, you may know about the "Wal-Mart Game" he started with some of his buddies in Statesboro. Dan, Adam & I played this game on Independence Day weekend at the Canton Wal-mart store. I believe we went on a Saturday night, prime time for activity. Anyway, each person picks a category of something they expect to see once entering the store. For example...Nascar attire, cigarettes in pockets, jean shorts, etc. Then once the door is opened in the parking lot, game's on. We all walked together and counted to ourselves the # of times we spotted our category. We did a whole loop around the store, from corner to corner, and back up to the front. Then the person with the most occurences in their category WINS! The winner in our area is mexican's with mustaches. Dan won our last round. He's more experienced in the game and knows what to pick to win! This is such a hilarious game, you gotta try it at some point in your life.

Again, I really didn't plan on blogging about Wal-mart. How crazy! I was planning to blog on all the rest & relaxation we have planned for this long weekend. A plan backfires. Oh well. Now it's time to get ready for church. C-ya!
