Weekend

Wanna know about our weekend? It was fun, but again, super busy. Friday wasn't too eventful, although we got to close the office a little early and I got a head start on my laundry. Adam & I also went out to dinner. Saturday was the crazy busy day. Adam got up early to bike with some friends in preparation for his adventure race which is sneaking up on him. He looked like he had jumped in the pool when he got home, he was so drenched in sweat. I did the usual laundry and dishes and straightened up the house. We were having people over that night for a small cookout, and we had to get the house ready.

After Adam got home from biking, he showered and we went out to the mechanic. My X-Terra has had a cooling problem over the past few weeks and it's gotten worse over the last week. Each time I would stop at a light, even briefly, the meter thing would go to hot and hot air would blow out. And in 95+ degree weather, this was brutal! So we left it with a mechanic and picked it up the same day. The mechanic flushed it out and put water in it and it was like brand new! We weren't even charged! We dodged a bullet there. Then we went to Walmart and Publix and ran around like ants.

Then 5 of our friends came over and we grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. At around 6:30pm we left to go to my dad's concert in Marietta. We met several other people down there, and sat under the trees in the square while ROC played from 7-9pm. We had a lot of fun and it was nice to socialize to music. Although at parts it was so loud we couldn't hear ourselves talk. Adam had a bright idea to set 2 people up on Saturday. This has been in the works for a couple months, but it's been hard to get the 2 people together. But little matchmaker Adam worked his magic and arranged for Jennifer, a long-time friend of Adam's & also the girl who played/sang at our wedding, to meet Matthew, a guy at our church. It seems like his intuition worked because the 2 didn't stop talking once they got together and they set up a date for the next day! I can't wait to find out how this plays out.

Then Sunday we got up early for the first church service so our day would seem longer. We got home earlier than usual so we ate lunch and napped for a few hours. It was so nice! Then it was back to church for a 3 hour leadership meeting/dinner. The AC didn't work well in this particular building so we sweated for the entire 3 hours. The fans were going, but it didn't do the trick. It's just too HOT outside!!
